I played the Tranzac back in March and little did I know that this would be the debut of the Toronto chapter of The Marshalls. Kitty(Jamie Browning) and Fender (Gary Robinson) Marshall showed up and we picked up a mandolin player for the second set. Enter Jeff MacNeil who had some sort of a proto-Marshall name until he asked his gal to grab him an Oatmeal Stout just before the set. That’s when Fender dubbed him “Oatmeal Marshall” and he eventually switched to bass for our Graffiti’s gigs. You can’t plan this stuff, folks.
