That’s okay, I’ve never been fifty before; now I get to see what it’s like. There’s a bit of tradition of me playing music somewhere around my birthday (actually the 7th) and this year we’re heading down to the Magpie Taproom in Hogtown to raise Cain. Hopefully the only shots heard will be the ones hitting the bar. You should come out and see what the fuss is about. You should bring your best friend’s wife, or somebody on parole. See you there! – G.G.

Starting this Monday, Dec 10th we’re going to Honky Tonk it up at the Barfly in Montreal. Probably start out small and build the lineup as we go. Doc and I tried this out a couple weeks back with just him on ivories and me on guitar and it worked great. Adding a rhythm section this time and we’ll see if Chubby can make it out – he has to get his truck fixed. Bring your best gal! Bring your good-timin” man!

This Saturday the Toronto chapter of The Marshalls Country Collective will be playing the Magpie Taproom at 831 Dundas Street West from 4-7. We will actually start at 3:45 pm sharp because there’s some sort of Honky-Tonk birthday party goin’ on, supposed to be packed is the forecast. After that I will be heading back to Montreal for a week to catch up with the fine musicians and friends who share this great music with me there. It all culminates in a grand show at The Wheel Club on Saturday November 24th. There’s going to be some familiar faces from the Montreal music scene getting up to belt out their favourite country classics so be sure not to miss out on this pivotal event at Canada’s original Old Time Country Club, the fabulous Wheel Club in N.D.G. Presale tickets are available at the club or online . If you want to get your feet (and throat) wet to see what all the fuss is about, Miss Lolly and I will be showing up for Hillbilly night on the 19th.

Hope to see you at one of these!

G.G.M.
